Bruce Thompson has spent his whole life gazing across the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait at Pictou Island. From his boyhood days playing on the shores of nearby Melmerby Beach and Chance Harbour, Bruce’s imagination was captured by Pictou Island and the mystery it holds. His roots run deep in the Pictou County area, feeling a strong affiliation with the people, the land and the spirit that makes this place his touchstone. For Bruce, the opportunity of Crannog is a lifelong quest that has lived deep within his heart. A quest for balance, for respect, and for inspiration. A quest for that place where you not only live, but a place where you are.

Much more than just a big dreamer, Bruce has a solid life in the business world. As president of Impact Communications Group, a marketing and communications company based in Halifax, Bruce combines his creative and strategic skills to guide businesses in their own quest for growth. Celebrating eleven years in business with a team of seventeen employees, Impact has a diverse roster of happy clients and a variety of award-winning creative work. Mostly recently, Impact won a WorldFest REMI Award at the Houston International Film Festival. Bruce was also recognized as one of Canada’s “Top Bosses” by Monster.ca A strong believer in the importance of being involved in the community, Impact works with a number of local and national organizations. A cause close to his heart, Bruce also serves as president of the Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
